Club Manager

Westover Hills Club is seeking a full-time Club Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Club, as well as to lead efforts to increase utilization of the Club’s facilities and engagement of Members.

Westover Hills Club, located in the hills of northwest Austin near the Arboretum, is a private recreational club for the use of its members and their guests. Membership is open to all Austin area residents. The facilities include four tennis courts (including multiple tennis leagues), a pickleball court, basketball court, heated swimming pool (including active summer swim team), children’s playscape, gymnasium, event room, locker room, and martial arts room.

The Members are the heart-and-soul of the Club. Accordingly, the goal of the General Manager is to maximize the experience of the Members, while ensuring the financial stability of the Club. The Club Manager is responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the Club. These responsibilities include:

  • Working with the Swim Director and the Racquets Director to manage the swim, pickleball, and tennis programs offered at the Club
  • Communication with existing members about the Club, it’s facilities and offerings
  • Communication with prospective members, providing information about joining the Club
  • Liaising with member-led Committees (e.g. Social Committee) around events and other initiatives of those Committees
  • Plan, program and staff and run summer camps
  • Overseeing groundskeeping, maintenance and janitorial services
  • Managing to the predetermined budget for the Club, reporting back to the Board on a monthly basis about the finances of the Club
  • Overall satisfaction of all members
  • Promotion of parties, special events
  • Driving excitement around the club’s programs and activities

Candidates interested in this role should have:

  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Exhibit a high level trust and transparency
  • The ability to effectively communicate with a wide array of stakeholders, including Members, employees, service providers, prospective members and outside parties
  • Proficiency with basic software applications like email, Microsoft Word / Excel / Powerpoint
  • A demonstrated ability to improve processes, schedules, workflows etc
  • A passion for the Club and it’s members, encouraging them to participate and engage with the Club on a regular basis

It is not necessary to have experience in managing a Club, but is preferred. Experience with Quickbooks and Court Reserve (or similar) would also be preferred. This position reports directly to the Board.

A competitive salary, including paid-time off and benefits, will be offered for this role based upon background and experience. A bonus may also be part of the compensation package for this role.
